In 2024, Shir for Life made significant strides in the fight against neuroblastoma, driving forward research, supporting families, and raising global awareness. Here’s a look at what we accomplished this year—with the help of our dedicated community.
Advancing Groundbreaking Research
Two Research Trials Funded: Shir for Life provided critical funding for a pre-clinical trial at CHOP (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia) and a groundbreaking research trial in Israel—both working to advance the future of neuroblastoma treatments.
Empowering Families & Advocates
Dozens of Parents Connected: At our parent conference, families came together to access vital resources, support, and community.
150+ Ambassadors Mobilized: Advocates from around the world helped spread awareness, raise funds, and push for change.
40 Lemonade Stands Hosted Globally: From schools to workplaces, communities came together to fundraise and bring attention to neuroblastoma.
Training Medical Professionals
First-Ever Neuroblastoma Nurses Conference in Israel: Nurses and medical professionals from six hospitals participated in a specialized neuroblastoma conference, gaining new insights and sharing case studies. A leading global neuroblastoma expert joined the event, further elevating discussions and advancing care practices.
Global Awareness & Advocacy
SIOPEN Spring Meeting in Milan: Strengthened international collaborations at this major pediatric oncology conference.
Israel Bonds Medical Conference: Brought neuroblastoma to the forefront of discussions, alongside key figures including Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla.
Fundraising Galas in NYC & Israel: Hundreds of supporters attended events that helped fuel research, awareness, and family support initiatives.

A Landmark Achievement: International Neuroblastoma Awareness Day
In December, we launched International Neuroblastoma Awareness Day (INAD), partnering with 20 organizations across more than 20 countries. The campaign reached over 700,000 people worldwide, making an unprecedented impact. This milestone event featured an expert-led educational webinar and introduced a new monthly webinar series—ensuring that families, researchers, and medical professionals stay informed about the latest developments in neuroblastoma treatment.
Looking Ahead to 2025
📢 Lemonade Stands: Hosting a stand at your school, workplace, or community event is a powerful way to raise awareness and fund research.
